Happy Monday, friend.
I hope you had a great weekend spent with family and some of your favorite foods. It’s time to close out the year strong, so let’s get after it :). Before we get into anything I just want to give a quick shout to Lexi M. Lexi, I hope this email brings you some value this week :)
Onward!
In Marketing Land
How were your sales through the weekend? Huge, I hope. And if they weren’t huge, I hope you acquired new customers at a cheaper rate :).
I’m hoping that you're seeing some higher returns on all your ads managers lately, especially after a relatively rough year of advertising. One thing that we’ve done to help maximize our results is:
Identify our most profitable ad-sets
Duplicate that ad set with exclusions of 180-day visitors, purchasers, subscribers, and social engagers
Doubled or tripled the budget on the new ad set
This way we don’t have to worry about resetting the learning phase in the profitable ad set, but still double down on the success of it.
Before you do this, be sure you check the frequency of the ad set you’re thinking of duplicating. If it’s been running for a while and you’re still getting a 1.0, you’re probably in a good spot to duplicate it. However, if you’re seeing 1.8 - you might be getting close to needing some new creative assets or new audiences altogether
The Goods
When’s the last time you asked yourself how you’re doing?
No really, when’s the last time you asked yourself the question, paused, and really reflected on how you’ve been feeling?
We spend so much time keeping up with calendars, serving others, scrolling through media, binging shows - it's like we’re intentionally avoiding our mental and emotional states. Why? Well, I’m not entirely sure but I have a feeling it might be easier to distract yourself from your feelings than it is to wrestle with them.
So this week take some time to check in with yourself today. If there’s something that’s been on your heart, write about it, take out that emotional trash. If there’s something that you’ve been feeling good about, celebrate it - soak at that moment.
This practice can give you the space you need to be honest about where you’re at. This way you can make the necessary adjustments to show up as your best self. You can reframe the narratives of our not-so-great circumstances, or build upon the momentum of our successes. You’d do it for a friend so why not do it for you? You owe it to yourself.
Quick Announcement
I hope to show up in your inbox in the next couple of weeks, but I may take the rest of the year from writing the Monday Standard. Either way, I’ll for sure see you in the first week of 2022. I’ll be using the time to be more present for my family, friends, work, and myself this season.
If I don’t talk to you, I hope you have a great holiday season. I wish you nothing but the best that life has to offer, and all of the love, confidence, and joy in the world.
Have a great rest of the year.
